Abstract Submission Guidelines
- You may submit your abstracts in English.
- Abstract submissions will be accepted starting February 15, 2026. The deadline for submission is June 1, 2026.
- Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the online submission system at www.totbid2026.org. Submissions sent via fax or e-mail outside the system will not be considered.
- All abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. Following review, abstracts will be assigned as either oral or poster presentations. Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail to the submitting author.
- Authors must indicate their presentation preference by selecting one of the following options:
- a-Oral Presentation,
- b-poster,
- c-Oral or Poster Presentation
- It is mandatory to include the e-mail addresses of all authors in the Notes section.
- The submitting author will be considered the corresponding author, and all correspondence will be conducted with this author. The presenting author must be specified during submission.
- For single-center studies, a maximum of 6 authors is allowed. For multi-center studies, the number of authors may not exceed 10. The order of authors cannot be changed after submission.
- Authors declare that their abstract has not been previously published in an academic journal at the time of submission.
The following points should be taken into consideration when preparing an abstract:

- Experimental Research
- Retrospective / Prospective Clinical Study
- Technical Note / Surgical Technique (Poster Only)
- e. Case Report (minimum 3 cases with contribution to the literature; Poster Only)
- Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (Poster Only)
- Authors must select one of the following categories:
- General Orthopedics
- Arthroplasty
- Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries
- Foot and Ankle Surgery
- Extremity Reconstruction and External Fixation
- Hand and Microsurgery
- Spine Surgery
- Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
- Orthopedic Traumatology
- Pediatric Orthopedics
- Orthopedic Oncology Surgery
- Important Considerations for Abstract Preparation:
- Abstract: The abstract should consist of a Title, Keywords, and Main Text.
- Title and Length: The title must not exceed 200 characters (including spaces), and the abstract must not exceed 3,000 characters (including spaces). The title should accurately reflect the content of the study and be engaging to readers.
- Keywords: Provide a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 keywords that clearly describe the study and facilitate indexing and retrieval.
- Main Text: The abstract should include the following structured sections: Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
- Background: Why is this study needed? What is currently known, and what gaps exist in the literature?
- Objective: What research question does your study aim to answer?
- Methods: Summarize how the study was conducted, clearly describing the number of cases/participants, the clinical, diagnostic, and experimental methods used, as well as the statistical method(s) applied.
- Results: Present the quantitative and/or qualitative data obtained, including statistical outcomes where applicable.
- Conclusion: This section should summarize the conclusions drawn from the findings and discuss the study’s contribution to the scientific literature.
- Author names and institutional affiliations must not be included in the title or the main text of the abstract.
- If abbreviations are used in the abstract, they must be written out in full at first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
- The following criteria are taken into consideration during the peer-review process. Addressing these points will increase the likelihood of acceptance:
- The study objective is valid, meaningful, and clearly stated,
- The number of cases/participants is sufficient,
- The methodology is clearly described and reproducible by other researchers,
- For clinical studies, adequate follow-up duration, the presence of a control group, and a prospective design are expected,
- The results are clear and comprehensible,
- Appropriate statistical analyses have been performed,
- The data have been interpreted accurately,
- The conclusions are correct and meaningful,
- The study presents new information and/or perspectives,
- In accordance with the decision taken at the TOTBİD Executive Board Meeting held on July 12, 2024, abstracts submitted by authors whose studies were accepted but not presented without valid excuse at the 34th National Turkish Orthopaedics and Traumatology Congress (held between November 4–9, 2025) will not be considered for evaluation at the 35th National Turkish Orthopaedics and Traumatology Congress.
- Studies accepted to the scientific program of the 2026 Congress but unable to be presented for any reason must be reported in writing no later than September 1, 2026, to kongresekreteri@totbid2026.org .
- For abstracts to be accepted and included in the Congress Program Book, at least one of the authors must complete congress registration by October 3, 2026.
- All abstracts submitted to our congress will undergo a peer-review process to ensure compliance with scientific standards. The evaluation process will be conducted using a blinded review method.
- Among the oral presentations delivered at the 35th National Turkish Orthopaedics and Traumatology Congress, those ranked first in the above-mentioned oral presentation categories will be eligible for publication support. Provided that the authors submit the full manuscript to Acta Orthopaedica et Traumatologica Turcica within six months following the conclusion of the congress and the manuscript is accepted after completion of the editorial process, the Article Processing Charge (APC) will be covered by TOTBİD.
- TOTBİD 2026 kongresine kabul edilen ve sunulan bildirilerin Abstracts accepted and presented at the TOTBİD 2026 Congress will be published in English in the congress abstract supplement of Acta Orthopaedica et Traumatologica Turcica. As publication in this supplement enables indexing and coverage by Web of Science (WoS), authors are required to submit English abstracts in addition to their Turkish abstracts to the Organizing Committee.
